The Assistant Manager, External Warehouse is responsible for overseeing the operations of external warehouse facilities, ensuring inventory accuracy, cost efficiency, and smooth order fulfillment. This role involves optimizing warehouse processes and ensuring compliance with regulatory and safety standards.
Responsibilities:
External Warehouse Operations
- Supervise receiving and storage of finished goods in external warehouse facilities, ensuring proper documentation and inventory accuracy.
- Ensure efficient warehouse space utilization, stock rotation, and timely replenishment.
- Conduct periodic inventory checks, cycle counts, and audits to maintain accuracy.
- Implement best practices in warehouse operations to improve efficiency and reduce costs.
- Ensure adherence to safety, compliance, and regulatory requirements.
Order Fulfillment & Logistics Coordination
- Ensure timely and accurate order processing, picking, and dispatch.
Optimize truck scheduling and loading operations to improve turnaround times.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders (Distribution, Sales, and Quality teams) to meet business needs.
- Performance & Continuous Improvement
- Define and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) such as inventory accuracy, order fulfillment rates, and warehouse efficiency.
- Identify opportunities for process improvements and cost reductions.
- Leverage technology (SAP, WMS) to streamline warehouse operations.
Team Collaboration & Development
- Work closely with internal teams to ensure smooth coordination of warehouse activities.
- Provide guidance and support to warehouse personnel to enhance operational performance.
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement and operational excellence.
Requirements:
- Diploma or Degree in Business, Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
- Minimum 3-5 years of experience in warehouse, logistics, or supply chain operations.
- Strong knowledge of external warehouse management, inventory control, and logistics coordination.
- Familiarity with SAP and Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) is an advantage.
- Experience in dealing with bonded goods will be an advantage.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Proven ability to lead teams and work collaboratively across teams to drive operational improvements.
