Manager, Distribution

Role overview

The Manager, Distribution is responsible for overseeing the end-to-end distribution operations of finished goods, ensuring timely and cost-effective deliveries while maintaining compliance with company policies and industry regulations. This role involves managing third-party logistics providers, optimizing delivery schedules, coordinating with stakeholders, and ensuring seamless import/export processes.

 

Responsibilities:

Distribution & Logistics Operations

  • Oversee daily distribution operations to ensure timely and efficient delivery of finished goods to all markets.
  • Optimize delivery schedules to balance cost efficiency, speed, and customer satisfaction.
  • Manage third-party transporters to ensure reliability, cost-effectiveness, and adherence to service-level agreements.

 

Customer Service & Issue Resolution

  • Act as a key liaison for customer inquiries and complaints, ensuring prompt and effective resolutions.
  • Address and resolve logistics-related challenges, including customs clearance and regulatory compliance issues.

 

 Compliance & Regulatory Management

  • Ensure all distribution activities comply with company policies, government regulations, and industry standards.
  • Oversee tax stamp purchases, validate duty requisitions, and verify customs duty declarations.
  • Manage freight bookings, shipping documentation, and customs clearance processes to ensure compliance with import/export regulations.

 

Stakeholder Collaboration & Financial Oversight

  • Work closely with supply chain planning and sales teams to optimize inventory turnover and reduce excess or obsolete stock.
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders on Incoterms, duty payments, and sales tax matters.
  • Review and validate vendor invoices for accuracy and adherence to agreed terms.
  • Assist the finance team with vendor and duty payments to ensure smooth financial operations.

 

Warehouse & Space Optimization

  • Ensure efficient warehouse space management in alignment with production schedules and budget targets.

 

Performance Monitoring & Reporting

  • Support the submission of monthly KPI reports to regional teams.
  • Provide operational support during peak periods or team absences to maintain workflow continuity.

 

Requirements:

  • With at least a Diploma or Degree in Business/Manufacturing Management/Logistics Management or equivalent.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in warehouse, logistics, or supply chain management.
  • Strong analytical, problem solving and stakeholder management skills.
  • Experience in dealing with Customs will be an advantage.
  • Familiarity or experience with SAP and/or Warehouse Management Systems (WMS)
  • Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to manage logistics-related challenges efficiently.
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to optimize costs while maintaining high service levels.
