Role Overview
We are looking for a proactive and analytical individual to join us as an Assistant Manager / Senior Executive, Business Controlling (Supply Chain), Finance. In this role, you will partner closely with the Supply Chain function and Finance stakeholders to provide financial insights and constructive challenges that support sound decision-making, effective resource management, and alignment on financial planning and performance monitoring. By integrating financial perspectives into operational strategies, you will help drive efficiency, strengthen cost management, and support overall business performance.

What you’ll be doing
- Perform month-end closing activities for Supply Chain, including preparation of manual journals, analysis of COGS, logistics costs and fixed overhead, as well as variance analysis and management commentary.
- Monitor and ensure the accuracy of inventory and fixed assets, including managing annual stock take, reviewing obsolescence, and recommending write-offs where necessary.
- Support annual strategic planning, budgeting and rolling forecasts for CAPEX, Logistics and COGS, including preparation of templates, data consolidation, and variance analysis.
- Manage fixed asset accounting activities, including monthly fixed asset closing, depreciation processing, and reconciliations.
- Execute capitalisation of fixed assets, ensuring correct classification and compliance with accounting policies.
- Maintain fixed asset master data and documentation, including managing physical asset tagging and asset records.
- Coordinate and process asset disposals and write-offs, ensuring proper approvals and adequate audit documentation.
- Support end-to-end CAPEX tracking, including monitoring project spend and ensuring adherence to CAPEX policies.
- Assist in periodic physical verification of fixed assets and inventories.
- Partner with non-finance stakeholders to provide financial insights that support operational and strategic decision-making.
- Identify risks and opportunities within Supply Chain cost centres and support cost management initiatives.
- Identify process improvement opportunities to enhance efficiency and accuracy in financial processes.
- Support ad-hoc analysis, projects, and tasks as assigned by the manager.
- Liaise with internal and external auditors and support compliance with the Carlsberg Control Framework over Financial Reporting (CFFR).
Requirements:
- A minimum of 3–6 years of controlling experience, preferably in a progressively responsible role.
- A Bachelor’s degree or professional qualification in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- A membership with the Malaysian Institute of Accountants (MIA) or other recognised professional accounting body in Malaysia.
- An excellent command of written and spoken English.
- A credible and confident professional who is able to challenge and influence business stakeholders.
- A good understanding of regulatory and financial reporting requirements within a public listed company environment.
- A strong knowledge of SAP and financial systems.
- A high proficiency in spreadsheet design and financial analysis.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to present complex information and analysis clearly and concisely.
- An ability to lead projects and collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to build networks and communicate with employees across all levels and departments.
- A high level of professional integrity and discretion when handling confidential information.
- A detail-oriented and analytical mindset with strong problem-solving capabilities.
