Assistant Manager/Senior Executive, Corporate Affairs and Sustainability

Responsible for safeguarding the Company’s overall reputation and image amidst a highly regulated and sensitive operating environment in Malaysia.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist the development and support the implementation of the Company’s purpose-driven profiling via internal, sustainability and marketing communications.
  • Custodian of online and digital communications channels (website, Facebook, Instagram and LinkedIn) and employee engagement events.
  • Support PR agency management to deliver sustainability and brand PR amplification.

 Internal Communications:

  • Drive awareness and engagement on our Purpose, People and Products to deliver the Company’s ambition to be the Most Successful, Most Professional and Most Attractive beer company.
  • Co-create annual communications strategy, plan and budget that are aligned with the Company goals, strategies and priorities in Malaysia.
  • Responsible for editorial development, production and dissemination of information as per Corporate Communications Policy.
  • Cascade the Carlsberg Group global messaging and campaigns locally through news update via internal communications channels (intranet, e-mail and mobile communication and town hall).
  • Support employee engagement activities (internal contests, events etc).
  • Manage corporate collaterals in alignment with Corporate Visual Identity.

 External Affairs:

  • Responsible for development and implementation of Marketing communications (on products, campaigns and services). These cover content development for speeches, keynote addresses, news releases, fact sheets, Q&As, presentation materials, social media posts and digital communication tools like video.
  • Develop and deliver higher Share of Voice versus competition.
  • Build and enhance media rapport-management with key stakeholders.
  • Support PR agency management to deliver sustainability and brand PR amplification, ensuring alignment and deliver high standard of quality and timely deliverables.
  • Lead timely management of the inflow and outflow of communications on the website and owned social media portals.
  • Monitor social media conversations on our platforms and provide actionable insights (via quarterly reports) to internal stakeholders.

 Sustainability:

  • Develop a sustainability communications plan for external communications (corporate website and social media channels).
  • Provide monthly updates and analysis to track the progress of the Company’s ESG programme.
  • Timely collation of reports and analysis for Zero Waste @ Workplace and CarlsBot (including NGO management, e.g. monthly meetings).

 Requirements:

  • A Bachelor’s degree in social sciences, major in corporate communications.
  • 3 – 7 years’ experience in corporate communications, public affairs, marketing communications and activations as well as sustainability developments.
  • Ability to work in diverse culture, matrix-organisation and across regions.
  • Resourceful and familiar with local media, regulators, and NGOs landscape.
  • Understanding of the social trends and impact on the Company and industry, particularly the by-laws governing advertisement, promotion, sampling, and sponsorship of alcoholic products.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, including the ability to interact with diverse and complex internal and external stakeholders.
  • Advocate best practices sharing on ways-of-working, ideas and innovations.
  • Strong content development and copywriting skills.
  • Global-mindset, local action-oriented and change driver/communicator.
  • Experience in driving communication and sustainability for public-listed companies, in compliance with Bursa Malaysia’s listing requirements preferred.
  • Effective, driven, and participative leadership style.
  • Solid analytical skills and project management abilities & strong dedication.
  • Excellent command of written and spoken English.
